Vegetarians have been brainwashed into thinking vegetarianism is a healthy way of eating. You will find on any osteoporosis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or other inflammatory bowel disease forum that 80% of the sufferers are vegetarians or ex-vegans, yet only 6% of the population are vegetarians. The protein-deficient vegan diet will blow your guts out, cause degenerative disc disease, and kill you with cancer or a hemorrhagic stroke, guaranteed.

Recent Testimonies From Ex-Vegetarians with Degenerative Disc Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease, and Candida Note: The ex-vegetarian below switched to a high-fat, red meat diet with awesome health improvements. The vegetarian diet caused degenerative disc disease and intestinal diseases. "Dear Mr.
Rieske, "I thought I would sign in for a progress report! I am doing very well. So far, so good. I am down to 2 BM's a day, and bleeding has disappeared. I am eating a very balanced diet (from the "Starting Diet" below) and it seems as if I am able to tolerate a lot of the red meat now. Thank you for all your advice, and I hope all is well with you." Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD, IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, Candida, and Others. Note: The report below from Sweden is typical of the denial by doctors. Don't expect your doctor to agree with this diet program. Most likely your doctor will object strongly. Neither will he give the diet any credit for your healing. "I have been following your diet for a couple of months. I eat mostly moose meat with coconut fat. I had a colonoscopy three days ago and guess what? No inflammation! My colon looked so good my doctor said the previous inflammation could not have been from a flare. Yeah, right! I know it was a bad flare, but I am fine now. Your page was the first site to open my eyes to the dangers of eating carbs. Keep up the good work." Note: The report below tell how this diet program works where other diets have failed. "Thanks for your information, it's been very helpful. I've taken your advice, and I've eliminated many of the offending foods that were allowed on another type of IBD diet that I thought were alright. That diet includes yogurt, melon, goat's cheese and surprisingly, the most helpful of all carrots! I've gone almost a year thinking that I couldn't tolerate butter and fatty meat, and suddenly they cause me no problem. I was having a flare for three weeks, and just beginning with the principals of your diet (not including the supplements and minerals) has gotten me back to normality in less than a week. It's a wonder! Low-Carb Diet Plan Prevents Diabetes, Cancer, Alzheimer's, and Heart Disease. |
Vegan Acid - Alkaline Theory is Nonsense
Vegetarians falsely claim that eating meat increases the body acid level. This is nonsense. Vegetarians typically suffer from acid reflux because they do not eat meat. Simply breathing properly can change the blood pH drastically within minutes. Deep breathing discharges carbon dioxide from the blood, which reduces the blood acid and increases the pH level. The body normally controls the acid/alkaline balance within a very narrow range. A diet devoid of meat is unhealthy because the stomach normally excretes a large amount of hydrochloric acid during a meal in preparation for the digestion of meat.

Animal Rights Terrorists Poison Ground Beef Again Forcing Massive Recall - June 10, 2007.
New York Times - 11 Indicted in Cases of Environmental Sabotage - January 21, 2006
"WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 - A federal grand jury in Eugene, Ore., has indicted 11 people on charges that they committed acts of domestic terrorism on behalf of two shadowy environmental groups, the Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front. Federal officials said Friday that the defendants were responsible for 17 incidents in five Western states from 1996 to late 2001."
The Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front started their domestic bioterrorism activities in the United States as early as 1990. These terrorists were given a free pass and were supported by the former United States Attorney General and FBI Director during the Clinton administration. The trial and sentencing is to follow and will be posted here.
Pilgrim's Pride Recalls Record 27.4 Million Pounds of Deli Meat.
The death of 23 people from contaminated deli meats with the listeria bacteria is most likely the result of bio-terrorism. The government is dragging its feet in the investigation and is refusing for political reasons to admit the perpetrators are animal rights activists. It is obvious that widespread contamination after cooking cannot occur except by deliberate contamination. The company carries some of the blame because their operations allow the terrorists to hire onto the plant and contaminate the meat. The company is paying for their neglect with a 34% one-day plunge in their stock price, and the company will pay more in settlements to the victims' relatives.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) 10/14/02 - "U.S. consumer groups blamed a "business-friendly" Bush administration for lax food safety policies on Monday, in the wake of the largest U.S. meat recall ever that prompted a 34 percent drop in shares of Pilgrim's Pride Corp.
Pilgrim's Pride, the No. 2 U.S. poultry producer, on Sunday recalled 27.4 million pounds of fresh and frozen ready-to-eat turkey and chicken products under its Wampler brand, after pulling 295,000 pounds of turkey and chicken products from the market last week due to listeria concerns.
The recall surpasses the previous record of 25 million pounds of ground beef set by Hudson Foods in 1997.
The company said the recall occurred after environmental tests at its Franconia, Pennsylvania, plant found a strain of listeria similar to the one identified in an outbreak in the U.S. Northeast that has caused at least 23 deaths and 120 illnesses.
The company halted production at its Pennsylvania plant and recalled meat products it made between May 1 and Oct. 11. It said most of the turkey and chicken were purchased nationally at grocery stores and restaurants and already consumed."

ConAgra Recalls Huge Amount of Beef.
The ConAgra Beef Company processing plant in Greeley, Colorado, recalled 18.6 million pounds of ground beef on July 19, 2002. The secrecy not revealed in all the news stories is the method by which this meat became contaminated by the E. coli bacteria. Animal rights activists are quick to blame sloppy processing as the cause in hopes of persuading the masses to refrain from eating meat. Many innocently buy into this excuse but logic shows otherwise. Such a large amount of meat contamination is not possible with the processing methods and inspection being done. A plant could not contaminate 18 millions pounds of ground beef unless it was deliberately done over a period of time. The timing, spacing, and amount of the meat contamination looks highly suspicious.
The ConAgra workforce has probably been infiltrated by animal rights terrorists. These people could easily contaminate the ground beef with laboratory grown E. coli bacteria and space their attacks to avoid detection. Their action has resulted in several deaths over the past few years. This action is murder, yet the government and the ConAgra company seem to be ignoring this problem, hoping it will just go away. Simply recalling a bunch of meat is not going to be the solution but only encourage further terrorist attacks. Hopefully, federal organizations will investigate and prosecute those involved.
Food poisoning by contamination is increasing because it is successful. This method by local terrorism groups could possibly become one of the methods used by foreign terrorists groups. The home-grown Animal Liberation Front (ALF) is considered a TERRORIST organization by the FBI. ALF was responsible for the destruction of millions of dollars of research equipment at Washington State University, and yes, also responsible for the death of many animals they "hold dear to their hearts." A few years ago, ALF vandalized the Animal Science School and various other schools of research at Washington State University. They destroyed a medical research lab (which was conducting experiments on improving the quality of life for farm animals), costing the state millions of dollars in repairs and lost research.
The politically correct major news organizations have treated the animal rights terrorists with a code of silence, and these groups have a high degree of public support. Wake up FBI and CIA. Food terrorism is capable of exceeding the damage and death caused on 9/11/2001 by the terrorist destruction of the twin World Trade Center Towers.
Time will tell whether or not this beef contamination was caused by animal rights supporters, but the future is clear. We must stop treating these groups as disobedient youngsters and begin to treat them as TERRORISTS.
A study of the extensive beef processing safety procedures shows that beef processing contaminations such as this is not really possible. This leaves two primary possibilities which both come back to ConAgra's deficiencies: 1) ConAgra may not be following their own food safety procedures, or 2) ConAgra may not have adequate employee monitoring and screening procedures to prevent the deliberate injection of the E. coli bacteria into the ground beef. Either way, ConAgra must get their operations in order to prevent a reoccurrence of these contamination incidences.

Are Vegetarian Diets
Worse Than Terrorists?
The low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet is recommended by vegetarians in an attempt to decrease the amount of animal products consumed knowing that animal products are typically high in fat and very low in carbohydrates. Some proponents are openly vegetarian while others try to keep their true identity under cover by not mentioning the word. The leaders who are pushing the vegetarian dogma are leading unsuspecting masses into the vegetarian diet by expressing and publishing myths, distortions and lies about eating meat, eggs, cheese and other animal products.

Vegetarian animal rights activists deceive others by falsely applying human attributes to animals. They describe animals as having feelings, thoughts, desires and understanding as if they were humans. They are not. Animals do not feel, think or desire the same things humans do. A typical example is used by describing the manure on the ground of a steer feedlot as something very unpleasant to the animal. Such logic is stupid. A cow in a beautiful green pasture will lay down on a fresh manure cow pie without hesitation. Dairy cows will come in for milking with their udder and nipples covered with manure even when kept in a grassy pasture. Vegetarian animal rights activists use these tactics because they believe the cows are someone's reincarnated grandmothers or grandfathers. They try to appeal to the "touchy-feely" nature of many naive people. It is all religious nonsense to keep people from eating animals they think are their descendants.
The Bible Condemns Abstaining From Eating Meats
The Bible describes those who recommend abstaining from eating meats as extremely evil. They are teaching doctrines of devils with lies and hypocrisy. The same is said about those who are against marriage.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (KJV)
Vegan Males Become Wussies
The vegan diet wipes out the hormonal system in males. Their testosterone levels plunge. The sperm count plunges, and they can't get it up -- erectile dysfunction (ED). They become impotent sissies. This is the reason vegan males become submissive to females and become homosexual. They can be seen carrying peace signs in demonstrations and are ready to surrender. The fact that the vegan diet makes humans less fertile proves humans did not evolve as vegetarians. This can be quickly shown by a simple visit to Dr. Andrew Weil's message board for male health problems.
I think my husband has erectile dysfunction (ED), Please help.
"Dear Group,
I need some serious advice. I think that my new husband of less than 2 months may have erectile dysfunction. He doesn't have a problem getting an erection. However, he does have a problem with keeping it. He rarely ejaculates...in fact he has only maintained his erection long enough to do it once. He is a young man, only 30 years old, and I don't know what to do. I tell him that it is okay that we don't ever complete intercourse, but he looks so sad when he can't keep his erection. I need to know what I can do as his wife to help him. He is a proud man and I don't want to hurt him. But I want to satisfy him and I know that I am failing to do so. Please help."The fact that the vegetarian diet turns men into homosexuals is very easy to prove. Simply go to a gay rally and shout this question into the microphone, "If you are gay and a vegetarian, please raise your hand!" Repeat the question once again to make sure most of them heard it. You will quickly see all the hands go up.
Vegan Females Become Infertile and Domineering
The vegan diet has a devastating effect on the hormones in the female as well. She soon looses her sex drive and fails to achieve an orgasm. She may drift into a lesbian relationship thinking her lack of arousal indicates she is gay when in reality it was caused by the deficient vegan diet. The female vegan often becomes infertile or miscarries the baby. She will often skip menstrual periods or stop having them all together. If she does get pregnant, the chances of having a deformed baby of the male sex is very high because of the phytoestrogens in her soy diet. Many primitive cultures placed a newlywed couple on a special high-meat diet because it promotes fertilization and produces healthy offspring. In some countries mothers are charged with child abuse for feeding an infant the vegan diet.

Vegan Parents Charged With Manslaughter of Child Because of Vegan Diet.Soybean plants are the most genetically modified organism (GMO) in the United States food supply. As of January, 2006, the percentage of soybeans that have been genetically modified is estimated to be 75% and spreading fast. Virtually all products on supermarket shelves that contain any soy or soy protein have all been contaminated. Just because a soy product is labeled "organic" does not mean it is GMO free. Vegetarians gorge themselves on soy products such as soy milk and soy burgers. Vegetarian foods such as breads, bagels, cereals, crackers, pastas, and energy drinks have all been fortified with soy protein made from GMO contaminated soybeans.
The vegan diet causes women to become domineering and obsessive compulsive controllers. They are always ready for a fight and look upon normal, submissive women in disgust. These vegan women like the wussie, vegan males because they enjoy bossing them around. Overbearing vegan women treat the vegan males in their lives like children, and the males accept it. Sick!
Advice to Vegetarians
Please don't be a liar and a hypocrite. Don't sneak around eating meat when others can't see you like other vegetarians. Don't eat fish and call yourself a vegetarian. Fish have a face and a mother. Don't eat eggs and call yourself a vegetarian. Half or more of the chickens born to become egg layers are male and must be killed to prevent egg producers from being overrun by roosters. Older laying hens are regularly culled as they live past their peak laying age, replaced by younger hens. Don't support killing chickens to support your egg diet and call yourself a vegetarian. Don't consume milk, cream, and cheese while you call yourself a vegetarian. Cows must produce a calf each year to keep giving milk, otherwise they dry up. Half of those calves are male and must be killed to prevent dairy farms from being overrun by bulls. Drinking milk and eating cheese results in half of the animals being killed. Don't be a liar and a hypocrite by telling others not to eat meat while you eat fish, cheese, and eggs.
The mental
paranoia and brainwashing in the vegetarian The vegetarian community has propagated so many lies against eating meat that believing this nonsense can be clearly classified as brainwashing. They meet all of the criteria. One typical lie is that meat putrefies in the intestines. This is scientifically false. The body produces stomach acid for the sole purpose of digesting meat. The human anatomy proves we are highly carnivorous. Carbohydrates from fruit and grain produce many diseases in humans. Meat heals the body. The extent of the brainwashing can be seen in a comment by an ex-vegetarian after she began eating meat again to heal her inflammatory bowel disease that was caused by her vegetarian diet. She wrote, "I just started eating meat again, and I found the taste strange. I am still unnerved by the thought of eating dead animals." Vegetarians don't see their own brainwashing. They simply think their understanding is superior to that of other people. This attitude is typical of those who have become brainwashed. These individuals rarely resolve their mental illness themselves. They need professional help just as other people do who have eating disorders such as bulimia (binge eating followed by forced purging by means of self-induced vomiting or use of laxatives) and anorexia (self starvation). They must be deprogrammed. Vegetarians usually seek help only after seeing their health decline. They develop diseases as a result of the nutritional deficiencies in their diet. The vegetarian diet is causing an explosion of inflammatory bowel diseases that are expected to get much worse as the growing number of young vegetarians age. True Vegetarianism Exposed
Vegetarianism is a religion which is falsely disguised as a healthy way of eating. The leaders of the vegetarianism religion worship animals. These people place animals on the same value level as human beings and sometimes above that of the human race. The result of their spreading myths, distortions, and lies about healthy eating has led to a dramatic surge in obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer that is not found in low-carbohydrate, high-fat, meat-eating societies. The low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet of the last 40 years has caused the early deaths of millions of people and untold suffering, both of which continue unabated to this day.
Animal rights people, such as those in the Hindu religion and others, claim that red meat and saturated fat are unhealthy because they want others to stop eating animals, especially the large mammals such as cows. They worship cows, believing their grandmother might have been reincarnated as a cow and has become the cow; therefore, they don't want others to kill her.
Animal rights activists worship animals. We are not talking about people who enjoy having a pet cat or a hunting dog. Animal rights activists hate the human race. We see the hatred of humans on the TV series Life After People. Animal rights activists are greedy, parasitic, control freaks. They are parasitic in that they suck up money from the government to support their religion that was stolen from the taxpayer. Animal rights activists try to control the entire world. They are not satisfied in animal worship in private. They insist that everyone else worship animals as well. The animals are their god. They don't want you to eat their god.
A Grandmother Express Concerned for Her Brainwashed Vegan Granddaughters
"I have a 25 year old granddaughter that is a vegetarian and has recently hooked up with the (name withheld). I totally believe that she is brainwashed and her mother does not agree with me. This (name withheld) is adding to the brainwashing by doing sneaky undercover work with our agriculture and saying factory farms are cruelty to animals. Have you done any research on any of these activist groups and how do I handle this as to what kind of information I give to the family? I also have another daughter that has M.S. and she is vegan and I am now concerned about her. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. And I am a Bible believing Christian."
God bless you, (name withheld).Vegetarians are not concerned that their high-carbohydrate diet recommendation is making people obese and giving them heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Instead, they are very pleased when people die at a younger age from these diseases because their prime objective is to give planet Earth back to the animals. Their diet causes disease in humans because we are omnivores (we eat both meat and plants) and strongly carnivorous (meat only diet). It is a scientific fact that a diet very high in meat and animal fats produces optimal health in humans.
Anthropological Research Reveals Optimal Human Diet.
Vegans suffer from their diet by failure to thrive at best. They appear sickly, with gray skin tone, weak muscle tone, and weak immune systems. Vitamin B12 deficiencies are common without supplementation. The hormones are one of the first things to deteriorate. Males have a large drop in their testosterone hormones and both sexes lose their sex drive. Many become impotent. Vegan children are more severely effected, with stunted growth and no muscle tone. Ex-vegans are quick to tell the hazards of not eating meat.
Vegetarians in Southern India do not suffer from vitamin B12 deficiency as do vegetarians in all English-speaking countries. The reason is found in the cleanliness of the raw food. The filthy food in India contains insects, larva, insect eggs, and excrement from insects, birds, and animals, providing them with vitamin B12.
Vegetarians and vegans have a high phytic acid intake from eating cereals and grain flours, resulting in a deficiencies of calcium, copper, chromium, vanadium, lithium, and zinc caused by poor absorption, even though these minerals may be in the food.

Beyond Vegetarianism - Raw Food, Vegan, Fruitarian, and Paleo Diets.Real Women Go Hunting Animals
Watching real women hunting animals on the "Men's Channel" on television is so awesome. Teenage girls and women can be seen hunting turkeys, pigs, deer, and other wild game using rifles or archery. These women are excellent shots and stalk the animals skillfully. The women cheer and jump up and down with excitement when the animal goes down. They yell, "I got him! I got him!" This is a great way for a woman to exercise a little healthy aggression. Hunting women are very attractive to men in contrast to obnoxious, vegetarian women who boss their wussie men around.
Who are the current leaders spreading this deadly propaganda?
The following individuals are not listed in any special order. However, they have organized a substantial following and promote the low-fat, high-carbohydrate, anti-meat dogma in books, lectures, clinics, "health" organizations, and web sites. One should not follow their advice even though it sounds convincing and appears to have a considerable number of scientific studies for reference. The fraud in scientific studies has become epidemic, resulting a mass of conflicting conclusions.
As a society, we are clearly in a state of nutritional crisis and in need of radical remedies. The statistics are sobering. After 30 years of seemingly solid advice aimed at lowering dietary fat, Americans have grown collectively fatter than ever. Today more than 60% of adults in the U.S. are classified as overweight or obese. Children have become so heavy that pediatricians are now facing an epidemic of Type 2 diabetes and hypertensiondiseases that are closely associated with overweight. This health crisis was unheard of among youngsters just a generation ago.
The vegetarians of India are causing the extinction of the Bengal tiger because of human overpopulation. Vegetarianism has caused the extinction of animals in other ways as well. The most prevalent animal species on Earth are those that are eaten by humans, such as cows, sheep, pig, chickens, and turkeys. The African ostrich is a good example of a bird that has become abundant on many continents because it is being raised for meat, leather, and feathers. The North American buffalo has been saved from extinction and now flourishes in great numbers because it has become an excellent meat source. Animals that people eat thrive in great numbers while animals that are protected become extinct, the last few running around with tags in their ears.
The vegetarians of Southern India eat a low-calorie diet very high in carbohydrates and low in protein and fat. They have the shortest life span of any society on Earth, and their bodies have an extremely low muscle mass. They are weak and frail and the children clearly exhibit a failure to thrive. Their heart disease rate is double that of the meat eaters in Northern India. HL Abrams. Vegetarianism: An anthropological/nutritional evaluation. Journal of Applied Nutrition, 1980, 32:2:53-87. The optimal diet for humans can be determined by anthropological research studies that show humans have primarily been meat eaters.
Anthropological Research Reveals Human Dietary Requirements for Optimal Health
by H. Leon Abrams, Jr., MA, EDSVegetarians are getting sick with intestinal diseases at alarming rates, especially young adult women who are more inclined to become vegetarian than males. Monitoring vegetarian nutritional message boards shows a high percentage of them with inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Their vegetarian diet does not make them well, but continues to make their poor health condition worsen. This is not surprising considering the fact that their diet is very high in carbohydrates.

Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa
The Pritikin Longevity Center was opened by Nathan Pritikin in 1976. Today the center is run by his son, Robert. Nathan Pritikin developed a low-fat, low-protein and high-complex carbohydrate diet in the 1970s due to his obesity and clogged arteries. His program required a very low-calorie diet and was strictly against the use of any vitamins, minerals, or other supplements. He reversed both of these conditions but died of suicide at the age of 60 years after battling leukemia (cancer of the bone marrow). Studies have now shown that his low-fat, low-protein diet causes cancer. He was warned by others that his diet had less vitamin E than minimum standards. It was also deficient in essential amino acids and essential fatty acids. His book was titled, Permanent Weight-Loss Manual and indeed he had a permanent weight loss, 100%. Patients at his Centre for Longevity who followed the diet and didn't cheat also suffered a multitude of other medical problems.
Nathan Pritikin's diet program did result in low cholesterol, but new studies have shown that a person with low cholesterol has an increased risk of committing suicide. Perhaps his low-cholesterol, low-fat, low-protein diet also caused his leukemia. Societies which have eaten a high-fat, high-protein and low-carbohydrate diet have been found to be cancer free. This is demonstrated numerous times in Dr. Weston A. Price's book:
Nutrition and Physical Degeneration at The Weston A. Price Foundation.
The Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs, chaired by George McGovern during the years 1973 to 1977, actively promoted the low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet as developed by Nathan Pritikin. McGovern attended the Pritikin Centre for Longevity and swallowed Pritikin's dietary theory hook, line, and sinker. McGovern then proceeded to make this dietary theory the official United States' government nutrition program to be presented to the citizens by the Department of Agriculture in a revised USDA Food Guide Pyramid. McGovern ignored numerous nutritionists and scientists who attempted to join the hearings in opposition to the new proposals. Their cries against the low-fat proposal were suppressed. Thus was born the most dangerous and disastrous dietary research program in the history of the world. Millions of people have died early deaths as the result of this theory being spread throughout the English-speaking world.
The United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia now suffer from an epidemic of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer as a result of following the lead of the United States. These countries have yet to come to the realization that their low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet recommendations are the reason for the horrid declines in health.
The new dietary guidelines where strongly supported by the edible food industry who were manufacturing deadly hydrogenated vegetable oils as a substitute for healthy, natural animal fats. The cereal manufacturers and others who base their businesses on carbohydrate products were also hardy supporters. We can't leave out the animal rights supporters who don't care how many people get sick and die as long as fewer people eat meat.
Secrets of the Edible Oil Industry.
"Science by committee - Like the flourishing American affinity for alternative medicine, an antifat movement evolved independently of science in the 1960s. It was fed by distrust of the establishment--in this case, both the medical establishment and the food industry--and by counterculture attacks on excessive consumption, whether manifested in gas-guzzling cars or the classic American cuisine of bacon and eggs and marbled steaks. And while the data on fat and health remained ambiguous and the scientific community polarized, the deadlock was broken not by any new science, but by politicians. It was Senator George McGovern's bipartisan, nonlegislative Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs--and, to be precise, a handful of McGovern's staff members--that almost single-handedly changed nutritional policy in this country and initiated the process of turning the dietary fat hypothesis into dogma." See the entire article at:
"Dr. Ornish began as a devotee of an Indian guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda. He became involved with the Swami after dropping out of Rice University in 1972 in a state of suicidal depression. It was apparently during this time that he formed his beliefs about the importance of a vegetarian diet with no added salt, sugar or fat and no caffeine combined with meditation, yoga and exercise." Quote by Timothy N. Gorski, M.D.
A few of the outrageously false nutritional statements put forth on Dr. Ornish's web site are:
"When you eat a lot of meat, it takes a long time for it to make its way through your digestive tract. As it putrefies and decays, your breath smells bad, your sweat smells bad, and your bowels smell bad. Not very attractive. You may want to lose weight to attract people to you, but when they get too close, it becomes counterproductive. Eating a lot of meat instead of all those simple carbohydrates will help lower their insulin response, causing them to lose weight. But they're mortgaging their health in the process."
Dr. Ornish must certainly be smelling his own bodily environmental emissions in his statement above. Everyone who switches to the high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet realizes that digestive gases and flatulence immediately cease. This was proven by Arctic explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson in 1928 during twelve months on an exclusive meat diet at the New York Bellevue Hospital. Research doctors x-rayed Stefansson to confirm he had very little intestinal gas.
Eskimos Prove An All Meat Diet Provides Excellent Health. The diet proposed by Dr. Ornish in his books is very high in carbohydrates. Everyone who eats his diet knows the smelly stench produced by the gases. Complex carbohydrates are even worse than simple carbohydrates because they move through the small intestines without being completely digested. In the colon, the complex carbohydrates are attacked by opportunistic pathogenic bacteria that produce a mixture of foul-smelling methane and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg gas). Toxic acids and other chemicals are also produced which leads to an array of inflammatory bowel diseases. Dr. Ornish's diet literally makes you sick and stinky.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD, IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, Candida, and Others.Dr. Ornish claims to have reversed heart disease but a close analysis of this study reveals the test patients improved because they lost weight and stopped smoking. Scientific studies as reported in the European Heart Journal (1997) 18, 18-22 show the low-fat, low-cholesterol diet is ineffective in reducing coronary heart disease and in one study showed an increase in deaths.
Increasing triglycerides and decreasing HDL implies a higher heart disease risk. Therefore, the low-fat, low-cholesterol diet proposed by Dr. Dean Ornish causes the cholesterol risk ratios to move in the wrong direction toward increasing heart disease risk. The Dr. Robert C. Atkins' low-carbohydrate diet greatly improves cholesterol risk ratios.
Effects of a Very-Low-Carbohydrate Diet Program Compared With a Low-Fat, Low-Cholesterol, Reduced Calorie Diet. The Ornish books, lectures, and website should be strictly avoided because he doesn't understand the health hazards from eating carbohydrates and doesn't understand the health benefits from eating natural meats and fats.
Everyday Cooking With Dr. Dean Ornish - A critical book review.
Dr. Dean Ornish's Low-Fat Diet and Dr. Robert C. Atkins' Low-Carbohydrate Diet Compared
The following quote and table are from Adipos 101. "We need large scale randomized studies comparing low fat and low carbohydrate diets. Until such studies is published, we must compare results reported by Ornish and Atkins themselves. The Ornish figures are the average of the Ornish Experimental group (n=22) carefully selected from hundreds of applicants. The Atkins' data (n=1) is from page 150 of his 1992 book. Neither of these samples is necessarily representative of the overweight population. However, the starting age, weight, and body mass index of Atkins' sample resembles those of Ornish's experimental group much more closely than Ornish's own control group, lending credence to the comparison."

"Further confirmation of Atkins' data comes from Dr. Ronald Krauss, chairman of the American Heart Association's Nutrition Committee. In some men with normal-sized LDL cholesterol particles, a very low-fat diet can cause changes in the cholesterol profile that indicate an increased heart disease risk. In one study, 36 out of 87 men with normal-sized LDL particles switched to the small-particle abnormalities when their dietary fat was lowered from 46 percent of calories from fat to 24 percent. One sign of the switch was a rise in their ratio of total cholesterol to "good" HDL cholesterol, which implies a higher heart disease risk. (API 7/16/96)"
100 News Reports - Atkins' Diet Proven Better Than American Heart Associations' Low-Fat Diet.
Scientific studies as reported in the European Heart Journal (1997) 18, 18-22 show the low-fat, low-cholesterol diet is ineffective in reducing coronary heart disease, and one study showed an increase in deaths. The diet also results in an increase in deaths from other causes as in the case of Mr. Pritikin above.
Increasing triglycerides and decreasing HDL creates a higher heart disease risk. Therefore, the low-fat, low-cholesterol diet proposed by Dr. Dean Ornish causes the cholesterol risk ratios to move in the wrong direction toward increasing heart disease risk. The Dr. Robert C. Atkins' low-carbohydrate diet greatly improves cholesterol risk ratios as shown in the table above and my own results sited above.
"Weil's writings are ambiguous about the conflict between science and alternative medicine, as they are about many other issues in alternative medicine. Yes, he thinks that all healing methods ought to be tested; and yes, modern science can make useful contributions to our understanding of health and disease. Yet the scientific method is not, for Weil, the only way, or even the best way, to learn about nature and the human body. Many important truths are intuitively evident and do not need scientific support, even when they seem to contradict logic. Conventional science-based medicine has its uses, but they are limited. Like so many of the other gurus of alternative medicine, Weil is not bothered by logical contradictions in his argument, or encumbered by a need to search for objective evidence." Quote by Arnold S. Relman, M.D.
A few of the unscientific statements put forth on Dr. Weil's web site are:
"Diet plays a multitude of roles in the development of cancer. Eat very little, if any, red meat -- Even small amounts of red meat result in a higher risk of developing colon cancer than eating no red meat at all. Eat little to no red meat and saturated fat -- Diets high in red meat and saturated fat have been correlated with an increased risk for prostate cancer."
"Heart disease or coronary artery disease is caused by atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a condition in which cholesterol-rich plaque builds up along the arterial walls. What you can do to lower your cholesterol. Reduce greatly the amount of saturated fat you eat. The richest sources of saturated fat (fat that is usually solid at room temperature) in the diet are dairy foods (except the fat-free versions), especially whole milk, cheese, butter and cream. Red meat is also high in saturated fat."
Vegetarian followers of Dr. Weil admit they develop bad cholesterol risk ratios. They are in denial about the hazards of their way of eating and blame it on heredity. This is a typical question posted on Dr. Weil's web site: "I have very high cholesterol that is obviously hereditary, since I'm a vegetarian and eat no animal products. I have a very low fat intake, and also take vitamin E. I don't want to take any medication. Is there anything I can take in the way of herbs or natural products to lower my cholesterol? And yes, I do exercise regularly."
The followers of Dr. Weil's Guide to Optimum Health suffer greatly from their deficiency of protein, animal fats, and vitamin B-12 on his vegetarian-type diet. They claim they are "eating healthy" and are totally confused when they soon start developing diseases and high-cholesterol. There is no way to correct these problems because they are firmly convinced they are already "eating a healthy diet." However, their diet is severely lacking in healthy animal protein and natural fats. Their high-carbohydrate diet creates a whole gamut of diseases associated with the excessive consumption of carbohydrates: diabetes, bowel diseases, arthritis, joint diseases, heart disease, skin diseases, eye diseases, fibrinogen, chronic fatigue syndrome, hormone problems, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), etc. The list includes diseases most people have never heard of. Check Dr. Weil's Chronic Conditions message board below to read of their desperate but unsuccessful struggle.
Dr. Weil's dietary advice for the prevention and cure of every disease from cancer, diabetes, and heart disease to intestinal problems includes the same standard vegetarian dogma, "Don't eat red meat." This advice is absolutely wrong. Vegetarians make many negative claims about eating red meat that are contrary to scientific facts. These claims are constantly repeated in hopes someone will stop eating animals. Weston A. Price, DDS, has proven that eating red meat provides awesome health by his worldwide exploration of primitive cultures.
Dr. Weil - Chronic Conditions Message Board
Dr. Weil is very smooth in his continual discouragement of eating meat, although he does recommend fish. His diet recommendations will result in a high intake of carbohydrates and should be strictly avoided.
Dr. Weil's website message board is tightly monitored and censored. Messages which are posted with quotes or links are instantly deleted if they show the deficiencies of vegetarianism. Likewise, research showing the awesome health benefits from eating a low-carbohydrate diet are immediately deleted. Certainly Dr. Weil has the right to control his website as he chooses, but this control is keeping his followers in dietary darkness, and their postings on his Chronic Conditions Message Board certainly prove it.
8 Weeks To Optimum Health by Andrew Weil, MD - A critical book review.
Anxiety, depression, and chronic bowel diseases are very common afflictions caused by a vegetarian diet. The following post on Dr. Weil's message board is typical. Unfortunately, they cannot be offered any assistance because they already believe their vegetarian diet is healthy, when in fact their vegetarian diet is the cause for their illnesses.
"This is kind of embarrassing, but it has been bothering me for a long time and I am finally going to try and do something about it.
I am 21 years old, female, healthy, vegetarian (okay I eat salmon sometimes), and am not on any medications. A year ago I started taking Zoloft for anxiety/OCD/depression stuff, but after a while I started getting a problem with loose stools - not quite diarrhea, but almost. I gradually went off of the medication due to this side effect, and it has been fully out of my system for at least four months.
BUT I am still having the GI complaints, so I guess it wasn't the Zoloft. I have read Dr. Weil's advice for diarrhea, but my problems are less severe and more chronic. I have no cramping, dehydration, nausea, or weight loss problems. No blood in there, either.
Any advice? I actually work in the supplements dept of a health food store, and am surrounded by all kinds of weird colon cleansers and stuff, but I haven't tried anything. Tonight I am going to start taking acidophilus."
Dr. Weil has deleted many of the personal statements and testimonies from his website readers that clearly show Dr. Weil's diet recommendations do not produce good health or cure diseases. Many of the website links have been broken but will remain listed above. Dr. Weil has removed an entire section of his website giving nutritional recommendations for the treatment of common diseases. Dr. Weil's harsh criticisms of red meat and saturated fat are not supported by scientific research or anthropological surveys.
Studies Prove Beef Is A Safe And Healthy Food.
Proof Saturated Fats Are Healthy.
Facts about Fats - The Skinny on Fats by Dr. Mary G. Enig and Sally Fallon.Dr. Weil has an obvious obesity problem. He appears to restrict the camera crew when on TV or video so as to not show his obvious obese stomach. He made the mistake of allowing a full profile camera shot at his home during a nutrition program. His obesity was obvious. He has mentions on his website that he need to reduce his weight, but he diets unsuccessfully trying to do so. Dr. Gary Null has his own problem but solved it in a different manner. Dr. Null made a mistake during his appearance on a PBS-TV program by appearing in a gym setting without his shirt. The funny little ripples on his abdomen are typical of those left after liposuction surgery for the removal of tummy fat. What a hoot.
Dr. Weil recommends a very high amount of carbohydrates in the diet ranging from 50 to 60 percent. This is the same as in the very unhealthy USDA Food Guide Pyramid. Dr. Weil's books, website, and television appearances should be strictly avoided.
Bone Analysis Suggests Neolithic People Preferred Meat
7,700-Year-Old Bones Prove Early Humans were Highly Carnivorous
Gary Null advocates that people eliminate all dairy products, meat, fish, fowl, and seafood from the diet. He claims his vegetarian diet is anti-aging even though the vegetarians of Southern India have the shortest lifespan of any society on Earth. "He promotes hundreds of ideas that are inaccurate, unscientific, and/or unproven." Quote by Stephen Barrett, M.D.
Dr. Null made a mistake during his appearance on a PBS-TV program several years ago by appearing in a gym setting without his shirt. The funny little ripples on his abdomen are typical of those left after liposuction surgery for the removal of tummy fat. Gary Null's face has aged 10 years in the last five years. His cheeks are concaved. To his credit, he doesn't do the cosmetic surgery route. A quick check on Dr. Stephen Barrett's web page below reveals Dr. Null was born in 1945. WOW! He looks at least 10 years older than that. I could hardly believe he is six years younger than I am. He looks at least six years older. He has sags and bags below the eyes that are a leading indicator of heart disease. His skin looks wrinkled and aged. What a hoot. Dr. Andrew Weil takes a different approach. He restricts the camera crew when appearing on video so as to not show his obvious obese stomach.
Gary Null credits his vegetarian diet for his good head of hair. His hair appears to be dyed, but he claims it is not dyed. Dying the hair is the oldest trick in the book. Dr. Andrew Weil advocates the same diet, but he is as bald as a bowling ball. Obviously Dr. Weil does not dye his hair. The little around the sides and his full beard are snow white. This comparison proves Dr. Null's claim that his diet grows a full head of hair is false. Anyone with a bald head or gray hair can easily prove that Dr. Null's diet does not grow black hair.
Gary Null appeared on the PBS television network in December 2005. His face certainly appeared to have a skin problem on the left cheek and forehead. The blemishes or problems were too severe to be covered with "camera make-up." Skin diseases are one of the most obvious indications of diet deficiencies, especially a deficiency of protein and fats. Skin is not made from complex carbohydrates.
Gary Null in his book recommending cures for numerous "conditions" advises people with candidiasis, Crohn's disease, or ulcerative colitis to eat a diet high in whole grains and complex carbohydrates that are high in fiber. These foods are the cause of a systemic candida yeast infection and inflammatory bowel diseases, not the cure. His diet recommendation is like throwing gasoline on a fire. A person with any of these conditions can easily test Dr. Null's recommendations. First follow the high-fat, low-carbohydrate and low-fiber diet on the following web page for two months. It has been shown to restore normal digestive health. Then switch to Dr. Null's recommended diet as shown in his book. His diet will cause the guts to literally plug with constipation or explode with raging diarrhea. Approximately 80% of the people with an inflammatory bowel disease on message boards are vegetarians, while the general population in the United States is only six percent vegetarian. The high-carbohydrate vegetarian diet causes inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD, IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, Candida, and Others.
Gary Null assaults meat at every opportunity in his new book, Ultimate Lifetime Diet. He launches a myriad of false claims against meat typical of those made by all vegetarians. The book has a separate section titled, "Meat, and Why You Don't Need It." On page 147 he says, "avoid meat completely." He also attacks milk products including whey protein powder in another section. He recommends eating soy protein powder as a primary source of protein even though soy protein powder is highly processed in a chemical factory. This certainly is not a natural unprocessed food as recommend throughout the book.
Gary Null's diet has placed him at high risk for several deadly diseases that plague vegetarians. Heart disease is common among vegetarians like marathon runner Jim Fixx who died in his running shoes and Brian Maxwell, producer of the PowerBar. Vegetarians in Southern India have twice the heart disease rate as the meat eaters in Northern India. Hemorrhagic stroke like the one that put vegetarian Rev. George H. Malkmus (see his story below) out of action is a common cause of death for vegetarians eating the low-fat, low-protein diet. The vegetarian diet simply makes the skin and blood vessels extremely thin. Hemorrhagic stroke strikes them even when the blood pressure is normal. Saturated fats in the diet prevent hemorrhagic stroke.
Proof Saturated Fats Are Healthy.
The risks for many types of cancers in vegetarians are epidemic. Diet book author and vegetarian Nathan Pritikin is a good example. Click on his name to read the story. The author of this website has only met and talked personally with two vegetarians. Dave was a healthy-looking 45 year old handy man five years ago. I suggested he eat my high-fat, high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet which is 70% fat, but he announced he was a vegetarian and had just formed a new support group. As of January, 2006, his doctors have given up all hope of curing his terminal colon cancer.
His death is eminent.Dave died in August, 2006. Kathy was a vegetarian triathlon competitor. At age 50 she developed terminal lung cancer, but she still won't give up her vegetarian diet. She has had chemotherapy twice and been given many experimental drugs. The doctors have now given up all hope as of January, 2006.Her death is eminent.Kathy died in September, 2006. Neither Dave nor Kathy understood that cancer-fighting immune system cells are made in the body from amino acids that are best derived from eating meat. Eskimos who ate a 100% meat diet never got cancer. Meat and animal fats actually prevent cancer.Gary Null's books and videos should be strictly avoided. He is a hard-core religious vegetarian.
"Deepak Chopra claims that "by consciously using our awareness, we can influence the way we age biologically. . . . You can tell your body not to age." He has reportedly made millions of dollars marketing such messages along with books, lectures, tapes, and consumables based on a "modern" version of an ancient Indian healing system (ayurvedic medicine)." Quote by Stephen Barrett, M.D.
Dr. Deepak Chopra was seen on CNN television on June 30, 2007, while promoting his new book, Buddha. His appearance was shocking. His face and neck were obviously fat, with bulges and horizontal rolls and wrinkles below the chin. He had large bags below the eyes which are often described as signs of impending heart disease. He wore a loose black shirt that failed to conceal a large amount of bulk and body fat around the middle. Dr. Chopra is a good example which proves that eating whole grains gives people a big roll of saturated fat around the waistline in the same way that feeding whole grains to cows and pigs also makes them fat.
Dr. Deepak Chopra's books and videos should be strictly avoided. He is a hard-core religious vegetarian.
John A. McDougall, M.D. and Mary A. McDougall are the authors of the book The McDougall Plan. They claim on their website, "The founder of The McDougall Plan for healthy living, has been studying and writing about the effects of nutrition on disease for over 20 years. Dr. John McDougall believes that people should look and feel great, and enjoy optimal health for a lifetime. Dr. McDougall has developed a nourishing, low-fat, starch-based diet that not only promotes a broad range of dramatic and lasting health benefits such as weight (fat) loss, but most importantly can also reverse serious illness, such as heart disease, without drugs."
These claims are easily proven false as many ex-vegetarians have found when the deficiencies in the diet begin to cause many diseases. The following website contains their testimonies.
Beyond Vegetarianism - Raw Food, Vegan, Fruitarian and Paleo Diets. The following is typical of the unscientific statements put forth by Dr. McDougall. "Dr. Atkins recommends you eat all you can eat of roast rack of lamb, lobster dripping in butter, and bacon and eggs. He believes human beings are carnivores -- an observation contradicted by all aspects of our anatomy and physiology. Our teeth are not like a cat's, we have no claws for tearing apart meat, our intestine is designed for digesting plant foods, not meat, and our livers have a limited capacity to metabolize cholesterol, which is one big reason our cholesterol levels rise on the Western diet."
Dr. McDougall makes statements like this which are solidly against the entire history of science and epidemiology studies. Humans are omnivores with the ability to eat both animal flesh and vegetables, but they are highly carnivorous and can live in excellent health on animal products alone. The McDougall diet is 85% carbohydrates, but the human body handles carbohydrates poorly. It must use the insulin hormone as the only method of absorbing them into the body. This insulin process causes many diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and bowel diseases. The body cannot grow or rebuild tissues from carbohydrates. The scientific requirement for carbohydrates is zero as can be seen in any human physiology book.
Absolute Scientific Proof Carbohydrates Are Pathogenic.Dr. John McDougall is a hard-core religious vegetarian and should be strictly avoided.
Rev. George H. Malkmus and his wife Rhonda founded Hallelujah Acres in 1992, and market some strange concoctions such as barley green juice, coal tar soap shampoo, and potassium sulfate deodorant. He claims to be a Christian but teaches the false doctrine that mankind should be vegetarians as were Adam and Eve before the "fall." A few of his outrageously false nutritional statements are:
"The facts are that meat, dairy and eggs can be linked directly or indirectly to about 90 percent of all physical problems and deaths in America today!!!"
"Colon cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer are the fastest growing cancers in America today and the primary cause of these cancers is the consumption of animal products!"
"Sadly, the high animal protein diet most doctors prescribe for their diabetic patients, is the very thing that causes diabetes."
In July, 2001, at the age of 68, Rev. George H. Malkmus suffered what he describes as a hemorrhagic stroke. He should have known that his low-fat, low-cholesterol vegetarian diet commonly results in dangerously low blood cholesterol which makes one prone to hemorrhagic stroke. Quoting Voyajer on the LowCarber.org message board:
"This type of stroke is very rare. It is called intraparenchymal hemorrhage where the brain starts bleeding internally. It is only found in Asian countries where they don't eat enough meat and animal products and especially where they don't eat saturated fat which is the only thing that protects against it."
Rev. George H. Malkmus is another sick vegetarian. His protein-deficient vegetarian diet had weakened his blood vessels so severely that he had a hemorrhagic stroke. Now his brain is the vegetable. He is crippled, sick, and brain damaged. He certainly deserves his wretched condition because he has caused many people to damage their health the way he did his own.
Asian type diets increased risk of intraparenchymal hemorrhage.
He tried to take some herbs for a while to bring down the high blood pressure which followed his stroke, but none of them had any effect; thus he had to resort to using prescription blood pressure medication. He has discontinued giving seminars on his barley green vegetarian diet. Stroke and high blood pressure - YIKES!
The Rev. George H. Malkmus is a false teacher of the Bible. The Bible clearly teaches that mankind should eat meat. God also placed the fear of man in the animals because they were to be man's food.
Genesis 9:2 "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move [on] the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. 3 "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs." (NKJV)
God also promised meat to His people:
Isaiah 25:6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine -- the best of meats and the finest of wines. (NIV)
(KJV)
Christians are admonished to eat meat:
1 Corinthians 10: 25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience' sake; 26 for "the earth [is] the Lord's, and all its fullness." (NKJV)
Jesus fed fish to 5,000 people as one of His many miracles:
Mark 6:39 Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. 41 And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave [them] to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among [them] all. 42 So they all ate and were filled. 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish. 44 Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men. (NKJV)
Was Jesus trying to give 5,000 people cancer by feeding them meat instead of vegetables? Certainly not. Did He not have the power to feed them fruits and vegetables instead of fish? Yes, but He did not. Jesus fed the people with fish, proving He was not a vegetarian.
Rev. George H. Malkmus is a hard-core vegetarian who seduces nutritionally naive persons by using false interruption of the Holy Scriptures. His nutritional and religious advice should be strictly avoided.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine
Dr. Neal Barnard, head of a vegan propaganda group, recently listed a number of serious diseases that they claimed could be produced by eating too much protein and even implied that clinicians who prescribed a high-protein and fat diet may be putting themselves at risk of a lawsuit. These varied scare tactics are designed to appeal to emotions and generate unwarranted fears in addressing serious health problems. Many studies have proven that Dr. Bernard's propaganda claims are absolutely false.
"As more and more people turn to the Atkins controlled lifestyle, it becomes an increasing threat to those groups that have another agenda. A case in point is the Physicians Council for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). Despite its misleading name, this organization is actually an animal rights organization that promotes a vegan lifestyle. In an effort to push its own political and philosophical agenda, PCRM is exploiting the legitimate concern about the crises of obesity and diabetes in this country. And in doing so, it is knowingly disregarding the scientific evidence, claiming that the Atkins program is a health risk and even making the outrageous claim that it can be life threatening. The Atkins Nutritional Approach (ANA) is firmly grounded in science. We only wish that this group of radical vegans masquerading as concerned and “responsible” physicians be held to the same standards to which all scientists should adhere."
Atkins Blasting 'Physicians' Committee Is a Front Group for PETA
For Immediate Release: February 10, 2004
Contact: Mike Burita (202) 463-7112 ext. 120Washington -- The late Dr. Robert Atkins is being smeared for his alleged obesity at the time of his death, by a phony doctors organization that has been exposed as a front group for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and has been censured by the American Medical Association (AMA). The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has taken in over $1 million from PETA and the animal rights movement. PCRM and PETA also share office space, board members, and staff. The AMA has formally censured PCRM in the past, calling its recommendations “irresponsible” and “potentially dangerous to the health and welfare of Americans.” The AMA has also called PCRM a “fringe organization” that uses “unethical tactics” and is “interested in perverting medical science.”
PCRM’s attacks on diets including meat, fish and dairy foods, and its constant demands for a vegetarian America, are rooted in an animal-rights philosophy. The facts on the late Dr. Robert Atkins:
(1) Dr. Stuart Trager MD, chairman of the Atkins Physicians Council, told the Wall Street Journal that Atkins' heart disease stemmed from cardiomyopathy, a condition that was thought to result from a viral infection. Atkins' weight was due to bloating and water-retention associated with his condition, and the time he spent in a coma after his head injury.
(2) Trager's own release this morning reads in part: "Due to water retention ... [Atkins] had a weight that varied between 180 and 195. During his coma, as he deteriorated and his major organs failed, fluid retention and bloating dramatically distorted his body and left him at 258 pounds at the time of his death, a documented weight gain of over 60 pounds."
The Truth About Dr. Atkins’ Weight By Stuart Trager, M.D.
"At the time of his injury at the age of 72, after years of following the Atkins Nutritional ApproachTM, Dr. Atkins’ recorded height was 6 feet and his recorded weight was 195 pounds."
PCRM is Connected to FBI Declared Terrorist Organizations
"Dr. Neal Barnard, is also the scientific advisor to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organization that supports and speaks for the terrorist organization known as the Animal Liberation Front (ALF)."
Dr. Barnard is a hard-core religious vegetarian and should be strictly avoided.
"Nutrition For Optimum Health" by Michael Klaper, MD.
Dr. Michael Klaper is the wildest vegetarian of the lot. He has stated that the fat consumed by eating beef or cheese shows up in a blood specimen as a white greasy substance. This is pure nonsense. Dietary fats are digested into simple fatty acids that are combined into triglycerides in the blood. The triglycerides are carried as a lipoprotein package that is water soluble. It does not separate in the sample tube as a white greasy fat. Carbohydrates also form triglycerides when a person consumes grains and other vegetables. First the body changes the dietary carbohydrates into glucose and then into triglycerides. The triglyceride lipoprotein can be carried and deposited as saturated fat around the mid-section. Dr. Klaper states the following on his website.
"When you draw blood into a glass tube and allow it to sit there for a couple of hours, it separates out into two parts.
Here is normal blood on the left and you see the red clot on the bottom and the clear liquid serum has risen up to the top. The serum should be transparent, you should be able to see through normal serum. However, the blood in my patient's tube looked very different. The serum that was floating on top of his clot was thick and greasy white, it looked like ivory glue when I shook the tube, the serum stuck to the sides of the tube. I went back into the room. I said, "Sir, before you came back to the hospital tonight, did you stop off anywhere from dinner?" He said, "Yes" I said, "Where?" and he said he had stopped at his local gourmet restaurant and he had his usual fare, and I said, "What did you have?"
"Well I had a double-bacon steerburger' with extra cheese and a milkshake, " a common offering at such institutions. And at that point when he said that, I realized what I was looking at in his blood tube. What was all the floating on top of his blood tube, what was floating on top of his blood tube was all the beef-fat in the burger, it was all the butterfat in the cheese, it was the butterfat in the ice-cream, it was the egg yoke fat that was in the mayonnaise that was slathered on the bun. All the fat that this man had eaten had oozed out into his bloodstream and turned his blood fatty. This is a well known phenomenon, it is called lipima and it happens every time you eat a fatty meal, a wave of fat goes through your bloodstream. Not everybody shows it this optically densely, but everyone has a wave of fat going through their bloodstream after a fatty meal, how can it be any other way?"
Dr. Klaper is a hard-core religious vegetarian and should be strictly avoided.

Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes
This is a must-read book. Gary Taubes is an award-winning scientist who has specialized in exposing misleading, incorrect, or fraudulent science. His seven-year research in every science connected with the impact of nutrition on health shows us that almost everything we believe about the nature of a healthy diet is wrong. For decades we have been taught that fat is bad for us, carbohydrates are better, and that the key to a healthy weight is eating less and exercising more. Yet with more and more people acting on the advice, we have seen unprecedented epidemics of obesity and diabetes.
Taubes argues persuasively that the problem lies in refined carbohydrates (white flour, sugar, easily digested starches) via their dramatic effect on insulin -- the hormone that regulates fat accumulation -- and that the key to good health is the kind of calories we take in, not the number. There are good and bad calories. Taubes traces how the common assumption that carbohydrates are fattening was abandoned in the 1960s when fat and cholesterol were blamed for heart disease and then -- wrongly -- were seen as the causes of a host of other maladies, including cancer. He shows us how these unproven hypotheses were emphatically embraced by authorities in nutrition, public health, and clinical medicine in spite of how well-conceived clinical trials have consistently refuted them. He also documents the dietary trials of carbohydrate restriction which consistently show that the fewer carbohydrates we consume the leaner we will be.
With precise references to the most significant existing clinical studies, he convinces us that there is no compelling scientific evidence demonstrating that saturated fat and cholesterol cause heart disease; that salt causes high blood pressure; and that fiber is a necessary part of a healthy diet. Based on the evidence that does exist, he leads us to conclude that the only healthy way to lose weight and remain lean is to eat fewer carbohydrates or to change the type of carbohydrates we do eat and, for some of us, perhaps to eat virtually none at all.

Life Without Bread: How a Low-Carbohydrate Diet Can Save Your Life
Life Without Bread is an important addition to the growing body of literature on the benefits and importance of low-carb diet. Written by Christian Allan, Ph.D., and Wolfgang Lutz, M.D., the book is based on Dr. Lutz's experience using carbohydrate restricted diets with thousands of patients for more than 40 years. It is based on extensive research in the medical and scientific literature and provides ample references. The book presents a unified theory of how high (and even moderate) levels of dietary carbohydrate cause or exacerbate various health problems and how carbohydrate restriction can help people to recover from those problems.
The book Life Without Bread by Christian Allan, Ph.D. and Wolfgang Lutz, M.D. has a chapter on gastrointestinal diseases. Don't be mislead by the title to believe the cure is the simple elimination of bread. Mr. Lutz's older book is out of print but has essentially the same information.
